There are multiple record types that can be stored in a DNSDNS
DNS (Domain Name System) provides us a way to give names to ip addresses. For example, if you have a [[Database]] running on a host in your local network behind the ip 192.168.1.6 (Host B), you can... server:
IP -> Hostname
is known as A RecordIPv6 -> Hostname
is known as AAAA RecordHostname -> Hostname
is known as C Record
